So, you went outside, or to con. No biggie! Here’s a tutorial on how to care for and clean your
Fursuit!
First, we are going to start with what NOT to do:
* Do not EVER use hot or warm water. Cold only!!
* Do not EVER put any part of your Fursuit in the dryer.
* Do not EVER color/ dye any part of your Fursuit.
* Do not EVER submerge parts that have foam in water.
* Try to avoid eating or drinking near, around, or in the suit.
* Do not EVER apply Lysol or germ aerosols directly to the Fursuit.
* Do not EVER get the eyes wet in any way
What do I use?
There are plenty of options but the best and most well-known to work great or detergents like
Woolite. For foam parts such as the head and feet paws, using Folex or Spot-Shot have good
spot-cleaning properties to avoid as much water as possible.
Basic instructions:
How do I wash my stinky boi?
-
- Constantly brush your suit or you will get mats.
-
- To clean the body suit and paws (using a washing machine) you first turn both fully inside-out,
this means the fur backing and lining should be exposed. Put them in the washing machine using
Woolite. Make sure the washing machine is set on COLD and DELICATE. Once done, flip the right side

head, detach it (if you can) and control the water flow to face away from the face and into the
tub/ shower floor (You can follow Skyhigh Studios tutorial or foreverfaiths tutorial to see how
that is specifically done)

- To clean my feet, follow the same tutorial for the head.

- For a tail, body suit, and paws you can also fill your tub with cold water and a bunch of Woolite
(not too much) carefully go through and squeeze each part of the suit, making sure you get all the
dirty water out. (you might need to empty and refill the tub a few times until it is as clean as
you’d like)

- To dry all, make sure items are placed and can be well ventilated (use big fans to air dry all of
the parts) every 30 minutes, go through and brush everything in the correct direction making sure
to be delicate when brushing cause your suit is especially sensitive when it’s wet. Repeat this
process until all parts are 70% to 80% dry, then hang them all up. Leave them to dry until fully
dry, making sure to check up on them and brush them every once in a while.
